Freezer Struggles With Freezing Temps

You know it's finally warming up after a long winter chill when the
chest freezer sitting out on the three season porch is kicking on when
it's 32 degrees *outside*. All winter long this freezer has been
mostly quiet. No reason to run if it's[ -12] degrees, right? Now that
the external air temperature is hovering around the internal freezer
temp, the ice box hums along as if to say, "Who, me worry? I'm on it.
No problemo. Me deep free-zo!."
Right. Slacker.

Lockergnome Stimulus Package

If I had a dime every time Brandon Watts from Lockergnome.com touted
the sugary sweet wonders of *every* software/webware program he ever
reviewed, I'd have my own stimulus package.

Note To Self

I need to prune my Google Reader this weekend.  I've been using it as a big feed dump and I'm not keeping up with half of it.  It needs to slim down to a meat and potatoes kinda layout.  Websites that update multiple times a day are clogging my 'unread' stats after a mere week.  I don't need to feel like I'm not keeping up and usually it's not worth the read anyway.

Smelly Joe

Java that is.  Why is it that some people can brew a pot of grounds and it smells wonderful and others (like the person just outside of my office) create an aroma reminiscent of hot tar mixed with road kill with hints of burnt army men?

Interesting look at the US - by county - of gas prices via gasbuddy.com.  This is a zoomable map.

TrueCrypt 6.0

This is both a blog post and a reminder to myself that I need to download and save TrueCrypt to my thumb drive.  I've heard nothing but good things about this free, opensource program.

"Who drives the Google 'Street View' video car?

There's no such thing as a stupid question, but they are the easiest to answer.
